DJ ELVEE
La Van Scott A/K/A
Born in California by way of Fresno, La Van has had a love for music since the age of 10. Later in his teens, he became a secular DJ until 1984 when he gave his life to Christ. At which point, La Van decided to use his gift of music to promote the gospel through song.
Why "Elvee"?
The name ELVEE came from his sister Tiffany who thought it would be a cool name to be without shortening the spelling in his name, something he cherishes because she is no longer with him. In 2000, now being known as DJ ELVEE, Billboard Magazine and Creed Magazine both did articles that featured his work as a successful and unique gospel and gospel hip hop DJ.
Performances With Successful Individuals
ELVEE has spun records for many celebrities, NBA Players, and recording artists such as Harold Minor, Oden Polynice, Flex & Shanice, Kim Fields, and Teena Marie. ELVEE has also shared the stage with:

A Reputable Gospel DJ
ELVEE became the most sought-after gospel DJ wherein he acquired his first radio show on the highly acclaimed station 92.3 (The Beat) as the DJ on the show, "The Gospel Café" from 2000-2001 until the station was sold. This did not stop ELVEE as he became highly recommended by numerous entertainers. All of this was at the height of the stations' success.
“Love in The Spirit”
After the demise of that show, a new show started at KJLH called "Love in The Spirit". This show would last from 2002-2006 until the station's owner, Stevie Wonder, liked what ELVEE was doing so much on his radio station. He gave ELVEE an offer that he could not refuse.
"The Gospel Mix Show"
ELVEE started his own gospel show called "The Gospel Mix Show" (with DJ ELVEE) on KJLH. His unique show was on the air from 2006-2020. As he retired from the show, he started his radio station to give his listeners more continuous gospel music in several genres.
“World on Wheels”
This is just a smart part of what DJ ELVEE's gospel ministry has bestowed on his listeners. He also had a gospel skate night that spawned 20 years. He was able to bring his music ministry to the famous "World on Wheels". He brought in an astounding 700 skaters per night for several years. This is to hear and skate to gospel music on a Friday night, mind you! Incredible!
A Successful Career
ELVEE has been thankful for the many years and the opportunities he's been able to have along his path. Now is the time for ELVEE to come out of his comfort zone by starting his radio show on his platform. This new show will give a wide range of music, from the traditional gospel, CCM, gospel hip hop, gospel reggae, to R&B gospel. You name it, and ELVEE will be able to provide ample gospel music, so there will be more than just one show.
A Member of the Church Community of Pastors
Let it be known that ELVEE has been a huge part of the church community of pastors. He is not a stranger to the needs of the youth and the church alike. ELVEE has worked with many churches throughout California, and some of the biggest, to name a few:
- City of Refuge Church (Bishop Noel Jones)
